Don’t forget your bug spray, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. I got eaten alive on my first trek and wished I had better protection!
i recommend visiting the pipeline road—it has the best birdwatching if you're into that. but, plan a half-day for it since there’s so much to see. it’s a photographer's paradise!
Billares Nelson
Altos de Campana National Park
Chagres National Park
I suggest bringing cash for entrance fees and local snacks, as not all places accept cards... I ran out of money on my visit and it was a hassle to find an ATM
you might wanna wear good hiking boots instead of sneakers. trust me, the terrain can be slippery and rocky. learned that the hard way!
I think it's best to start your trek by 7 AM to avoid the heat and catch the wildlife active in the morning. I started later and missed a lot!
My advice is to download an offline map of the park. Cell service can be spotty, and you don’t want to get lost while enjoying the beautiful trails!
La India Dormida
Park Natural Metropolitan
Wear comfortable shoes because the paths can be a bit uneven. I wore my fashion sneakers, and trust me, it was a mistake. You’ll want something sturdy for a better experience!
plan to visit in the early morning around 7 am. it's cooler and quieter, plus you might catch glimpses of wildlife before the heat drives them away. i loved having the trails mostly to myself.
Bowman 507 Archery Club
Junglecat Panama
Bring some cash! While they accept cards, I noticed some smaller activities and tips are easier with cash on hand. Better to be safe than sorry!
Definitely try to go around 9 AM. The morning rides were less crowded, and we got better views of wildlife before it got too hot!
Don't skip the local food afterward! There are some great spots nearby that offer delicious authentic meals at reasonable prices.
