Recreativo Omar Torrijos Park
Definitely check out the outdoor gym area! I was surprised to find free equipment and it was a fun way to break a sweat. Bring some water, it's easy to get dehydrated in the Panamanian sun.

Remember sunscreen! I thought I could skip it just for a walk, but I ended up sizzling by midday. A good sunblock can make a huge difference.

I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekends can get super crowded, and that can make it tough to find a good spot to relax.
Starfish Beach

I think the best time to arrive is around 10 AM. This way, you can snag a good spot on the beach before it gets crowded and really enjoy the morning sun.

I recommend bringing cash for food and drinks, as the little beach shacks don’t take cards. Paying in cash saves time and makes the transactions smoother!
Park Natural Metropolitan

Check out the trails with varying difficulties; some are super easy and perfect if you just want to enjoy the views without breaking a sweat. I was surprised by how much you can experience without being an experienced hiker.

Wear comfortable shoes because the paths can be a bit uneven. I wore my fashion sneakers, and trust me, it was a mistake. You’ll want something sturdy for a better experience!

plan to visit in the early morning around 7 am. it's cooler and quieter, plus you might catch glimpses of wildlife before the heat drives them away. i loved having the trails mostly to myself.
The Lost Waterfalls
Sobraniya National Park

I recommend visiting during the early morning around 8 AM. The wildlife is super active then, and it’s cooler before the heat sets in. Trust me, those early bird views are totally worth it!

If you want to save some cash, consider packing a picnic lunch instead of dining at the one restaurant in the park. I did this and enjoyed a peaceful break surrounded by nature

Check out the lesser-known trails. I stumbled across one that wasn't in the main guide, and it was incredible – way fewer people and stunning views. Don’t just stick to the main paths!
Cayo Zapatilla

I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks – the food options are super limited and quite pricey on the island... You’ll save money and enjoy your day more!

My advice is to pack a snorkel if you can. The underwater life is amazing and you don't want to miss it. It’s a fun way to explore without spending extra money on gear rentals.

I suggest wearing water shoes because some parts of the beach can be rocky and it makes beach walking way more comfortable.
The Parque Municipal Summit
Volcan Baru

Consider hiring a local guide who knows the trail well. I found that a little more cash upfront meant way less time spent wandering off course.

If you're planning to catch that insane sunrise from the top, aim to start your hike around 3 AM. The views are sooo worth it once you get up there!

I ndont forget to pack snacks and plenty of water, the hike can be super long and you'll get hungry. I wish I had more snacks on my trip!
Archipelago de San Blas

My advice is to rent a boat on your own if you can. I went with a tour and felt rushed. Having the freedom to explore at your own pace was totally worth it!

I recommend checking the weather before you go, especially during rainy season. I got caught in a storm and it kind of ruined the vibe. A little planning goes a long way!
Red Frog Beach

I think it's worth walking a bit further down the beach to find a quieter spot. The main area can be packed, but just a few minutes away, and you'll have more peace.

I recommend bringing a cooler with snacks and drinks. It saves you money and the beach can get super hot so having cold water is a lifesaver!

Get to Red Frog Beach by 9 AM. You'll avoid the big crowds and get a chance to soak in the beauty without too many people around, which is a total bonus!
