San Francisco Convent and Catacombs Museum
My advice is to join the tour that includes the catacombs. I didn't and missed out on some great stories and details that would have made it even cooler.
Huaca Pucllana Site Museum
I recommend visiting in the late afternoon around 4 PM – the golden hour lighting makes for better photos and the crowds start to thin out
Coricancha
Larco Museum
King Philip Fortress
Museum of the Nation
If you’re short on cash, consider visiting on a Sunday when entrance is often free. It saved me some bucks, but be prepared for more visitors!
Check out the small café inside for a quick snack. I grabbed a sandwich and it was surprisingly tasty for a museum eatery. Plus, it gave me a nice break!
I suggest getting there right when it opens at 9 AM. The crowds can get pretty crazy later in the day, and you’ll have more time to really enjoy the exhibits without rushing.
Royal Tombs Of Sipan Museum
Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion (LUM)
Grab lunch at the café nearby after your visit. The food is affordable and it’s nice to relax and reflect on everything you’ve seen.
I recommend visiting on a Wednesday or Thursday; it's less crowded and you can really soak in the atmosphere. Plus, entry is usually cheaper on weekdays!
Don't skip the small exhibits in the corners – they often have some hidden gems! I found a lot of interesting info that wasn't in the main displays
Peruvian National Museum of Archaeology
I suggest getting there early, like around 9 AM, to avoid the crowds. It makes exploring the exhibits way more enjoyable without all the people jostling around.
I think you should take your time with the audio guides. They really add a ton of context to the artifacts, and you'll get the most out of your visit. Don't rush!
If you're planning to grab a snack, skip the cafe inside. It's kind of pricey and the options aren't great. There's a nice place just outside the museum with better food!
The Natural History Museum
Check the calendar for special exhibitions before you go. I missed a limited exhibit by just a couple of days, and I think it would have made my visit even better.
