Plaza Mayor

Try to visit in the early morning, around 8 AM, to enjoy the plaza with fewer crowds and to catch the beautiful morning light for photos. It’s just way more relaxed before the tourists pour in.

If you're into photography, I recommend visiting just before sunset. The warm colors really bring out the beauty of the architecture, and it's magical with the lights coming on.
Machu Picchu
Plaza de Armas
Plaza San Martin
Saqsaywaman
Ollantaytambo Sanctuary

I suggest bringing a reusable water bottle; you can fill it up at the entrance and save some cash. Plus, staying hydrated is key when exploring!

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The stones can be slippery and uneven, so good footwear will make your hike much easier.

I recommend hiring a local guide. You get more insight into the history and culture, and it feels way more authentic than just wandering around.
San Francisco Convent and Catacombs Museum

Check out the museum right when it opens at 9 AM. I went later and the crowds were crazy, so early birds definitely get the worm here!

My advice is to join the tour that includes the catacombs. I didn't and missed out on some great stories and details that would have made it even cooler.
Muyuk Marka
Huaca Pucllana Site Museum

If you can, spend some time in the museum before heading to the pyramids – the exhibits really give you context for what you’re about to see.
I recommend visiting in the late afternoon around 4 PM – the golden hour lighting makes for better photos and the crowds start to thin out
