El Yunque National Forest

I suggest arriving right when the park opens around 7 AM to snag a good parking spot and avoid the crowds on popular trails... Trust me it's way more peaceful in the morning

bring your own snacks and water! the nearby shops can be pricey, and having your own food saved me some extra cash and kept my energy up while hiking.
Guanica Dry Forest Reserve

Check out the visitor center before you start. They have some cool info about the flora and fauna. Plus, I found out about trails I didn't even know existed and got a better plan for my hike!

Download an offline map before you hit the trail... There’s limited cell service, and it can be tricky to navigate without one... You'll save yourself some wandering time!
Cabo Rojo Wildlife Refuge
Bosque Estatal de Cambalache

Wear good shoes! I didn't think I'd need hiking boots, but the trails can get super muddy. Trust me, your feet will thank you.
Bosque Estatal Toro Negro
Mount Pirata Observation Post
El Toro Trail at El Yunque
Guajataca Forest
El Arbol Solitari
Tres Picachos

I recommend starting your hike around 7 AM. It gets super hot later in the day, and trust me, that early morning vibe is just unbeatable for enjoying the view!

I suggest bringin' plenty of water and some snacks, the hike can get long and you don't wanna be caught without energy! I ran out and had to rush back, which was such a bummer
