Howling Waterfall
Wear good hiking shoes; the trail can get slippery, especially near the water. I learned this the hard way and had to be extra careful on my way back!

Start your hike early like around 7 AM. You'll enjoy the cooler temperatures and less crowded trails. Plus the morning light makes for some great photos of the waterfall!
Bucegi Mountains
Piatra Craiului Mountains
Fagaras Mountains
Retezat Mountains

For the best experience, download offline maps before you go. Cell service can be spotty, and getting lost in those beautiful woods isn’t as fun as it sounds!

Start your hikes early, like around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the stunning sunrise. Trust me, it’s worth it for the views and you'll have more trail to yourself!
Apuseni Mountains
My advice is to use maps.me for offline navigation. Cell service can be spotty in the mountains, and this app saved me from getting lost during my hikes.

I recommend bringing cash, especially for small villages and local markets. Some places don't accept card payments, and you'll miss out on tasty local treats if you're not prepared.

If you want epic views, hike to the Padis Plateau at sunrise... It's absolutely stunning and you’ll avoid the crowds while capturing incredible photos

Plan your meals around local timings; many food spots close by 6 PM. I learned the hard way when I found out my favorite restaurant was shuttered by the time I got there!
Durau-Panaghia-Vf. Toaca

When you reach Vf. Toaca, pack some snacks to enjoy. It's a great spot to relax, and trust me, food tastes way better with a view! But don't forget to bring back-up water bottles!

If you're short on time, I think you can skip the Panaghia monastery section. Nice place, but the best sights are up on the peak. Hit the trail directly to Vf. Toaca.

I suggest starting your hike around 8 AM. It gets really crowded later, and you'll enjoy the peace and quiet much more. Plus, you'll have lovely morning views!
