Make sure to explore the exhibition spaces inside... I spent too much time outside and missed some really cool installations...

If you’re on a budget, pack a picnic. There are plenty of lovely spots around the castle to enjoy lunch with a view.

Don't forget to check the weather before your trip. It rained on my visit, and I wish I had brought an umbrella for the outdoor areas.

My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The castle has some steep climbs, and you'll be walking around a lot. Trust me, your feet will thank you.

I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can... It was way less crowded, and I had more time to explore without feeling rushed... Plus, the views from the top are totally worth it!

If you're looking to save some cash, try to grab a combo ticket for Maribor Castle and other local attractions. I wish I'd known about it before my visit—could've saved a few bucks!
