Check the weather before you go. I got caught in a surprise storm; it dampened the experience a bit! Plan for clear skies to make the most of the hike.

Bring enough water and snacks. The hike took me longer than I expected, and I ran out of water. Trust me, you don't want to be thirsty halfway up.

If you're on a budget, pack your lunch and enjoy it at the top. The views are worth it, and you'll save a few bucks instead of buying at the local cafes.

My advice is to wear sturdy shoes; the terrain can get rocky and uneven. I wore my usual trainers, and I regrets it halfway through my hike!

If you can, download a map or have a trail guide app handy. I got a bit lost because some signs weren't super clear, and that ate up a lot of my time

I suggest starting your hike early, like around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and enjoy the cool morning air. Plus, the views are stunning before the sun gets too harsh!

Don't forget to bring plenty of water and some snacks! The trails can be a bit tougher than they seem and I ran out of energy too quickly without enough fuel.

If you're planning to do the whole Otter Trail, my advice is to pack light. You don’t need a ton of stuff and it’ll make the hike so much easier. Trust me, every extra ounce feels like a ton after the first day.

I think it’s a great idea to invest in a good pair of hiking shoes before you go. I learned the hard way when my old sneakers gave me blisters on the second day. You don’t want sore feet ruining your adventure!

Pack a picnic lunch and lots of water! Trust me, stopping for a break with a scenic view while munching on some snacks beats rushing to a restaurant.

I think it’s smart to bring a portable charger for your phone. You’ll be taking lots of pics, and you don’t want to run out of battery mid-hike!
