Gamcheon Culture Village

Wear comfortable shoes! The walking paths can get steep and uneven, so you’ll want to be ready for some good hikes... I wish I'd brought better shoes!

If you're into photography visit during golden hour (around sunset) for breathtaking views and softer light. It really makes the village’s colors pop!
Korean Folk Village

My advice is to try the traditional snacks from the vendors. They’re not that expensive and give you a real taste of local culture. I loved the rice cakes!

I recommend getting there right when they open at 9 AM to beat the crowds and enjoy a peaceful stroll through the village. It's super picturesque in the morning light!
Bukchon Hanok Village

Don't forget to check out some of the local artisan shops; they have unique souvenirs that won't break the bank. I found some cute little trinkets!

My advice is to grab a map from the visitor center; it’s super helpful to figure out the best spots and avoid getting lost!

Keep an eye out for the hidden tea houses—it’s a perfect way to take a break and soak in the culture. I found a lovely one after wandering a bit!

Start your day around 8 am to beat the crowds and enjoy the quiet ambiance... The morning light does wonders for photos too!
Namsangol Hanok Village

Try to visit the craft workshops! They’re super fun and often run by friendly locals who let you try things hands-on. It's a great way to save on touristy souvenirs

I suggest arriving around 9 AM when it opens. The crowds are way smaller then, and you can enjoy taking photos without a ton of people in your shot.

I recommend bringing a water bottle – there are not many places to buy drinks inside, and it can get hot walking through the village.

I think it’s best to wear comfy shoes since the village has some lovely but uneven pathways. I ended up with sore feet from my sandals!
Hahoe Folk Village

My advice is to visit on a weekday if you can. The weekends can get super crowded, and it's way more enjoyable when there are fewer people around.

I think it's a good idea to get the audio guide. It adds a lot to the experience and will help you understand the history without needing a tour guide
Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village

I suggest bringing a little cash for the traditional crafts and souvenirs. I missed out on some cool hand-made stuff because I only had cards. So annoying!

I think the best time to go is either early in the morning, around 9 AM, or later in the afternoon, around 4 PM. You'll miss the crowds and get way better photos!

I recommend checking out the local food stalls around lunch time; the tteokbokki and kimbap are delish and way cheaper than eating in sit-down restaurants. Really hit the spot for me!
Yangdong Folk Village

Try to get a guidebook or download an app with historical info. I skipped this and missed out on some fascinating stories behind the buildings and culture.
Ararichon Folk Village

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes! You'll be doing a fair amount of walking on uneven paths and steps, and my blisters from the stone pathways were not fun. Don't make the same mistake I did!

I think you should bring some snacks and water with you. There’s not a lot of food options once you’re in the village, and I ended up spending way too much at the one café. A little prep can save you cash!
Lee Hyo-seok Culture Village

I suggest checking out the local food stalls around 11 AM before the lunch rush... They serve some amazing, affordable dishes that I almost missed... Trust me, you'll save some cash and get to try authentic flavors
