Try to start your hike by 8 AM. The early morning light is beautiful, and you'll avoid the crowds. I went at 10 AM and it got super busy!
Bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are limited places to buy anything along the trail. I learned the hard way and got pretty thirsty halfway through.
If you're driving, check out parking in advance. The lots fill up fast and I ended up parking quite far and walking extra to the start of the trail.
Camino de Ronda
Look for the hidden coves and less-traveled paths. I stumbled upon a gorgeous little beach that wasn’t in any guidebook. It's great to wander off the main path for a bit!
Bring snacks and water from a local grocery store before you hit the trail. The little shops along the way can be pricy. I saved a lot by stocking up ahead of time!
I suggest starting early, around 8 AM, to avoid the crowds and the midday heat. Enjoying the beautiful views without too many people around is totally worth it!
Via Ferrata de la Cala del Moli
Wear good hiking shoes with decent grip; some sections can get pretty slippery. I did it in regular trainers and slipped way more than I’d like to admit!
Definitely bring plenty of water and snacks – the hike can be more challenging than it looks, and you don’t want to be caught unprepared. Trust me, I regretted not having enough fuel halfway up.
Check the weather beforehand! It can change quickly in the mountains. I got caught in a drizzle, and while it was still fun, it made some sections a bit sketchier.
Los Cahorros Monachil
My advice is to wear sturdy shoes. I thought my regular sneakers would do, but the rocky paths can be tricky and I ended up slipping a couple of times!
I recommend bringing your own snacks and water. The cafes are a bit overpriced and the trail is pretty long, so you’ll save money and enjoy a picnic in nature!
