The Vasa Museum
If you can, try to grab lunch at the café after you've explored. The view of the ship from there is amazing, and it gives you a nice moment to reflect on what you just saw.
I suggest visiting around 9 AM when it opens. You'll beat the crowds and have a much better time checking out the ship without having to shove your way through people.
check out the audio guide! it's included with your ticket and really gives you a great insight into the history of the vasa. plus, it helps you not miss any key parts!
I recommend taking a look at the museum shop before you leave. They have some unique souvenirs that aren't overpriced, and you can find some cool books and gifts related to the Vasa.
Skansen
Wear comfy shoes! There’s a lot of walking on uneven paths, and my feet were killing me by the end of the day.
If you're going with kids don’t skip the children's zoo. It was such a hit with my little ones and it was a nice change of pace from the historical stuff.
Fotografiska
Universeum
I suggest checking out the rainforest exhibit first. It's super cool but gets crowded fast. You don’t wanna miss the monkeys and colorful birds!
If you can, go on a weekday, especially in the morning around 10 am. It was way less crowded, and I got to enjoy the exhibits at my own pace.
My advice is to buy your tickets online. I saved a few bucks and skipped the lines. More time for exploring, ya know?
Abba the Museum
Try to visit on a weekday, preferably around 2 PM. The museum was much less crowded, and I had a better chance to enjoy everything without feeling rushed.
I recommend bringing your own headphones if you can. The audio guide was nice, but mine didn’t work half the time and it was annoying to wait for a replacement!
The Museum of the Nordic Countries
Swedish Museum of Natural History
The Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology
My advice is to visit on a weekday if you can; it gets packed on weekends, and you won't enjoy the exhibits as much with crowds around.
Make sure to engage with the staff; they are super helpful and can point out things you might overlook.
Plan to spend at least 3-4 hours here; there's so much to explore! I felt rushed, and I missed some cool exhibits.
