I think it's smart to wear layers. The weather can change quick! I was freezing in the morning but by noon it felt like summer, so you're gonna wanna be prepared for anything
I recommend starting your hike around 6 AM. The early morning views are stunning, and you’ll avoid the bigger crowds and midday heat. Plus, sunrise up here is just magical!
Qixing Mountain
Daba Jianshan
Wuliaojian Ridge
Wear sturdy shoes! The trails can get slippery, especially if it rained recently. I found out the hard way, and it wasn't super fun!
Xueshan
My advice is to bring layers. The weather changes fast up there! I was freezing in the morning but baking by noon. A light jacket and some breathable layers made my trek so much better.
I recommend starting your hike early, like around 6 AM, to catch the sunrise. It’s stunning and you avoid the crowds and heat later in the day. Plus, it's a more peaceful experience up there!
Xiaozishan Trail
Bring enough water! You don’t want to be caught thirsty out there. I took a small backpack but forgot extra H2O which was a bit of a rookie mistake.
I recommend checking the weather before you go. I got caught in a sudden rain shower and had to cut my hike short because I wasn’t prepared!
I think taking your time and enjoying the little sights, like unique plants and viewpoints, really makes the hike more memorable. Don't rush; savor the experience!
Ruitai Historic Trail
I think downloading a map beforehand is a must! The trail can get a bit confusing, and phone service is patchy. A good ol' offline map will save you time and headaches
Ape Hill
My advice is to wear sturdy shoes! The trail can get a bit slippery, especially after rain; I regretted my choice of flip-flops halfway up.
