Consider hiring a local guide who knows the trails well. They can save you lots of time and help you avoid the common tourist traps—all while giving you a richer experience. Plus it's great to learn from someone who knows the area inside out.

Download offline maps! Cell service can be spotty, and I got lost more than once. Having a map handy really helped me navigate and saved me a lot of hassle. You’ll want to focus on the experience, not the search for directions
Essque Zalu's Infinity Pool

I suggest arriving around 9 AM to snag a good lounger. By noon, it gets pretty packed, and the best views of the beach get taken!
Serengeti National Park

I recommend hiring a local guide; they know all the best spots and will help you spot wildlife you might miss on your own. It’s not that pricey and totally worth it!

Be prepared for dust! I thought I could wear nice clothes but ended up dusty and uncomfortable. Old clothes and a bandana are a must for this trip
If you can, try to hit the park at 6 AM. You'll catch the sunrise and see animals before it gets too hot – trust me, the early birds have a better view!

Bring snacks! I forgot my lunch on the first day, and we had to waste time looking for a spot to eat. Packing a picnic really makes a difference.
Kendwa Beach

Don’t miss the sunset! Head to the beach around 6 PM. It’s a magical experience, and the pictures are absolutely worth it. Grab a drink from a local beach bar and just enjoy the vibe!

Bring cash! Some beach bars and vendors don’t accept cards. I learned the hard way when I couldn't buy a drink on the beach. Plus, you might get better prices for lounging chairs if you can negotiate cash deals.

Consider renting a bike to explore nearby areas. I wish I had done this! It’s a fun and cheap way to see more of the island beyond the beach.

If you're into snorkeling, check out the coral reefs around 10 AM when the tide is high. The visibility is at its best then, and you’ll see so much more than just the shoreline!
Baraka Natural Aquarium
Mikumi

I suggest booking a night drive if you can. Seeing the animals under the stars is magical and really worth it! Just remember to bring a jacket, it can get chilly afterward.

I recommend visiting during the dry season (June to October). The animals come out more, and the scenery is just stunning without all the mud and rain!

Check for park entry prices ahead of time. Sometimes they change, and I saw some folks getting caught off guard with unexpected fees

Consider hiring a local guide who knows the best spots. It feels like having a backstage pass to nature, and they can save you a lot of time looking for wildlife.
Nungwi Beach

Rent a scooter to explore nearby beaches like Kendwa. I think it’s way more fun than sticking to just Nungwi, and you’ll save money on transport if you want to hop around.
Tarangire National Park

I recommend getting to the park by 6:30 AM to catch the beautiful sunrise and see wildlife before the heat kicks in. It's so worth it!

I think staying at a lodge just outside the park can save you some cash compared to staying in the park and still offers amazing views and easy access
my advice is to take a packed lunch. we found the food inside was pricey and not that great. a simple sandwich in the bush was perfect!
Matemwe Beach

I recommend bringing some cash, as not all places accept cards. I ended up searching for an ATM, which wasted a bit of my day. Just be prepared!
I suggest you go for a stroll at sunrise around 6 AM. The beach looks incredible, and you'll avoid the heat and crowds. Trust me, the early morning vibes are worth it!

Next time, I think I'll rent a bike for the day! It's a fun way to explore the area, plus you'll get to see some places you might miss if you're just chilling at the beach.
