Grand Palace
My advice is to take some time to chat with the local vendors outside. They have great stories and you might find a cool souvenir at a better price than inside!
I recommend getting there right when it opens at 8:30 AM. The crowds are way less, and you can take stunning pics without hoards of people in the background.
Check out the Royal Chapel but be careful about the strict dress code. I saw so many visitors getting turned away for inappropriate clothing!
Wat Arun
Big Buddha
I suggest going early, like around 8 AM, to beat the crowds and the heat. It was so much more peaceful then!
I recommend taking the public bus if you're on a budget. It takes a bit longer than a taxi, but it's way cheaper and gives you a chance to see more of the area.
When you get to the top, take your time to sit and soak in the views. I rushed it and missed some great photo ops!
Don't skip the little souvenir shops on your way up. I found some unique things that were a lot less expensive than in Patong!
Buddha Temple
Don’t forget sunscreen if it’s a sunny day. I was burned up after just an hour of wandering around. I’d suggest left the sunscreen in your bag for easy access.
Temple of the Emerald Buddha
Bangkok Art and Cultural Center
I think it’s a good idea to ask the staff about any temporary exhibits or events; they are super friendly and can point you to some hidden gems you might miss otherwise
I recommend visiting on weekdays around 10 AM; it felt way less crowded, and I could take my time enjoying the exhibits. Weekends are a mad house!
Don’t skip the cafes on the top floor! They have great views and are perfect for a chill coffee break after exploring. Plus, prices are reasonable.
Thai-Burmese Railway
Museum of Art in 3 D
Golden Buddha
White Temple Wat Rong Khun
I suggest checking the weather ahead of time. My visit was cut short by rain, but had I checked, I could have planned better. Sunscreen is also a must, even on cloudy days.
If you can, do a mini photoshoot at the bridge leading to the temple. I got some of my fave photos there, and it's less crowded than inside the temple itself.
I recommend arriving around 8 AM when it opens. The calm atmosphere lets you enjoy the details without the crowds. Later in the day, it can feel super busy!
