I think packing a picnic lunch is a great idea. The on-site café can be a bit pricey, and there’s lovely grass to sit on while watching the gliders take off

I suggest arriving by 10 AM if you want to catch the morning briefings and enjoy a full day’s experience. The earlier you get there, the more flying time you can get under your belt!

My advice is to wear layers! The weather can change quickly up in the air, and while it’s warm on the ground, it can get chilly once you're soaring. Better to be prepared!

I think it’s worth splurging on the longer flights for memorable views over the stunning landscapes. Don't miss out on capturing those picturesque moments!

My advice is to book a flight in advance. It get real busy on weekends, and you don’t wanna waste time standing around. I went on a Sunday and ended up waiting a bit longer than expected.

If you fancy saving some cash, pack your own snacks. The onsite café prices are high, and I could’ve saved a few quid if I brought my own grub. Just don’t forget to have some water for the day!

I think it’s worth asking the instructors lots of questions. They love sharing their knowledge! I learned so much, and it made the whole experience way more fun and personal. Plus, you feel much more prepared if it's your first time.
Redhill Aviation Flight Centre
Banbury Gliding Club
My advice is to book a flight in the morning around 9 AM if you can. The skies are generally clearer and the wait time is shorter compared to later in the day.

If you're on a budget, consider bringing a packed lunch because food options nearby can be a bit pricy. I spent more than I expected, and a sandwich from home would've been way better!
