The British Museum
Plan your visit during the week, especially on Wednesday or Thursday. It was way less crowded, and I could actually enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
Check out the temporary exhibitions online before going. Some require booking, and I missed out on one that looked amazing just because I wasn't aware of it!
Tate Modern
Tate Britain
Saatchi Gallery
LUMAS Gallery London
Make sure to ask the staff for recommendations or stories about the pieces. They are super friendly and knowledgeable – I learned a lot from my chat with one of them.
I suggest checking out their online store before you go. They often have deals that you can snag, maybe even on pieces that caught your eye in the gallery!
When I visited I wish I had spent a bit more time in the upstairs section. Some cool lesser-known artists are showcased there that you might miss otherwise!
Hayward Gallery
Kettle's Yard
My advice is to explore the little shop they have. They sell some unique items that are not too pricey, perfect for a keepsake without breaking the bank. I found a lovely print that I couldn't resist!
Guildhall Art Gallery
Gallery Serpentine
I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can; weekends can get pretty crowded, and you might miss out on seeing some art up close.
If you're planning to check out the gift shop, my advice is to do it before your visit. They have some unique pieces that I found better than at the end when my wallet was a bit lighter.
