Dockweiler Beach

Bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas if you can. Rental prices can add up quickly, and it’s more comfy when you have your own stuff. I regretted not bringing mine and ended up sitting on the sand

Pack a picnic! It's a great way to save money on food and enjoy the beach atmosphere. I found a nice spot and just relaxed while munching away instead of spending a lot at nearby cafes.
Malibu Beach

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks... The beach prices can be super high! I regretted not packing a cooler when I saw a bottle of water for $5
Laniakea Beach

I recommend checking the surf report before going. The waves can be pretty intense, and it’s helpful to know what you’re getting into, especially if you’re a beginner. Last time, I didn't check, and it was a bit overwhelming!

If you're planning to rent a surfboard, I suggest hitting up local shops instead of the beach rentals. They usually have better prices and more flexible hours. Saved me some cash!
Banzai Pipeline

bring your own snacks and water. the nearby food trucks can be pricey and the lines get long, so stock up before you hit the beach.

If you’re new to surfing, consider renting a soft-top board instead of a hard-top. Much safer, and it’ll save you some cash on potential repairs!
Get to the beach around 7 AM to snag a good spot. It gets super busy, especially during the winter surf season when the waves are at their best.

Check the surf report beforehand. I totally missed out on catching some epic waves because I didn’t read up on the conditions beforehand.
Waimea Bay

Don't forget to bring your own snacks and drinks! The food options are limited and pretty pricey, so packing a cooler saves you some cash and you're guaranteed to have what you like.

I recommend bringing some water shoes if you're planning to jump off the rocks. The rocky areas can be gnarly, and those shoes saved my feet from some nasty scrapes!

I suggest getting to Waimea Bay by 9 AM to snag a good parking spot. It fills up fast, especially on weekends! We got there around 10 and ended up parking a good walk away.

My advice is to check the surf conditions before you go. If the waves are too high, it can be a bit risky for beginners. Plus, you might miss out on some calm days perfect for swimming!
McKinley Beach

Don’t forget sunscreen! I got a bit too caught up in the fun and forgot to reapply. The sun can be relentless, especially on a bright day, so keep it handy.

Bring your own snacks and drinks. Beach concessions can get pricey and the quality isn’t always great. I saved a ton packing my own cooler and enjoyed having my favorite treats.
Waikiki Beach

If you’re planning to eat out, try hitting up local food trucks instead of sit-down restaurants. You can feast on amazing poke bowls and loco moco without breaking the bank. I loved my meal from a truck and saved a ton!
Manhattan Beach

If you're into surfing, rent a board at one of the local shops instead of the big rental places. I saved some cash and got a way nicer board with better service.

For food, hit up the taco trucks on Sepulveda Blvd. They have some of the best grub and are way cheaper than the beachfront restaurants!

Check out the Manhattan Beach Pier during the sunset. The views are stunning and it's less crowded around 6 PM. You’ll get some great photos!
Mariner Sails

I suggest checking the weather forecast before heading to Mariner Sails. Conditions can change fast and you don't wanna be stuck with bad winds!

My advice is to book your rental gear in advance if you can. It can save you some time standing in line, and who knows, you might snag a discount!
Yakutat

If you're into surfing, hit the waves early in the morning around 7 AM. The water is less crowded, and you'll catch some great swells before the wind picks up later in the day.
Check out the local surf school. They offer great deals for first-timers, and it's a fun way to meet other surfers and get insider tips about the best spots.

I suggest renting gear instead of buying. Most shops have amazing rental prices, and the locals are super helpful with what you need for a day of fun on the beach.
