Yosemite

Don’t forget to download offline maps before your visit. Service is spotty in many areas of Yosemite, and getting lost can be a headache. I did and it helped a ton.

Pack your own snacks and lunch! Food inside the park is pricey and not always great... I saved a ton bringing my own goodies

If you're into ice climbing, consider going mid-week. Rentals and guided services are usually less crowded, and you can snag better prices without the weekend rush.

I recommend starting your day at Tunnel View around 6:30 AM for stunning sunrises and fewer crowds. It’s breathtaking and way less hectic!
Ouray Ice Park
Sandstone Ice Park

You gotta grab your gear early! I got mine the night before, and it made a huge difference in skipping lines in the morning. The rental place can get packed real quick.

If you're planning to take photos, bring a good camera or your phone with a waterproof case. The scenery is stunning, and you don't want to miss capturing those moments.
Frankenstein Cliff

If you can, rent gear in advance. I found a great rental shop nearby that saved us a ton of money compared to getting it at the cliff. Also, the staff there gave us some awesome tips for the climb!
Matanuska Glacier

My advice is to wear sunglasses on the glacier. I didn't bring mine and regretted it—the glare from the ice was intense.

I recommend getting there by 9 AM to beat the crowds. It was beautiful and quiet in the morning, plus the lighting for photos is way better!

I think it's worth packing a lunch. The snack bar there is decent but overpriced, and sitting on the glacier with a sandwich is cool for sure!

If you're planning to rent gear for ice climbing do it ahead of time online. I found it cheaper and more convenient than renting onsite where they seemed a bit short on sizes!
