Statue of Liberty

If you want a great view of the statue, try to snag a spot on the right side of the ferry. I thought I could just move around, but it got crowded real quick!

Don’t forget to check the weather! I didn’t and ended up getting soaked on my way back to Manhattan. A little planning goes a long way

My advice is to visit during the week if you can. I went on a Saturday and the crowds were insane. It felt more rushed than relaxing.

I suggest taking the audio tour when you're on Liberty Island. It added so much to the experience and I felt like I was really learning about the history there.
Times Square

Grab a coffee at one of the small cafes off the main square before jumping into the madness. It’s way cheaper than the spots right in Times Square.

I suggest checking out the TKTS booth for discounted Broadway tickets. It saved me a bunch compared to buying directly from the theaters.
If you can, try to visit around 8 AM. The crowds are way smaller, and you can snap some great photos without too many people in the background.

Be cautious of street performers. They can be engaging, but some might ask for money after taking a pic with you. Enjoy them, but set boundaries!
Rockefeller Center

I wish I had known to wear comfy shoes. There’s a lot of walking and standing, especially if you want to explore the surrounding Rockefeller Plaza and catch the seasonal decorations or events
I recommend visiting during the weekdays, especially early in the morning around 9 am to avoid the weekend crowds. It's way more chill and you can actually enjoy the views without jostling for space.

While the observation deck is a must-do, I suggest also taking a walk around the area. The shops, including the famous Radio City Music Hall, are great, but keep an eye out for street performers. They can be really entertaining.

My advice is to time your visit around sunset. There's nothing like seeing the city turn from vibrant lights to twinkling stars, but book your ticket in advance to get that prime time!
Pier 39

Take a stroll along the waterfront past Pier 39. I found the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz are just as breathtaking and way less crowded than at the pier

If you want to save on parking, consider taking public transit. The area can get pricey, and it's a breeze getting there via the BART or Muni.
Fremont Walking Alley

get there around 5 pm; it’s a great time to catch the sunset before all the lights come on. plus, it’s less crowded then!

If you want great photos, head to the bridge before 6 PM. The lights and the views are really stunning, and you’ll miss the big crowds!

I recommend grabbing the famous shrimp cocktail at the Golden Nugget. It’s a tasty treat and won’t break the bank!
Santa Monica Pier

Check out the food trucks on the beach side! They have some amazing eats, plus it's usually more affordable than the sit-down restaurants on the Pier.

I think bringing cash is a good idea – some vendors only take cash and you won't want to miss out on some tasty treats!
If you're planning on using the rides, buy the wristband in advance online. It’s a better deal and you’ll skip the line on busy days, which can save you some time!
Don't forget to explore the beach! The sand is wonderful for a leisurely stroll and the ocean view is a perfect backdrop for your photos.
Golden Gate Bridge

Grab some snacks before you head over. There's limited food options on the bridge itself, and I mean, who wants to be hangry in front of such an iconic view?

If you can, bike across the bridge instead of walking. It's an amazing experience, and you’ll save time. Plus, you can explore more of the surrounding areas like Sausalito.

Don’t forget to bring a jacket! It gets really windy on the bridge, and even if it’s warm in the city, it can be chilly up there.

I suggest visiting during the week if you can. The weekends get super crowded, and I found it much more enjoyable with fewer people around.
The Brooklyn Bridge

Grab a snack from a street vendor near the entrance; it's way cheaper than the touristy cafes. I learned the hard way!
If you're into art, take a detour to DUMBO after the bridge. The views are stunning and there are some cool murals to check out!

I recommend checking the weather before you go; a sunny day makes the views way better! I went on a cloudy day, and it kind of dampened the experience.

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. It's a longer stroll than it looks, and your feet will thank you by the end!
Lincoln Memorial

I recommend going early in the morning, like around 7 AM, to avoid the crowds. It’s way more peaceful, and you can take some amazing photos without random people in the background.

Bring a reusable water bottle. There are fountains around, and it’s a great way to stay hydrated without spending money on pricey bottled water.

Wear comfy shoes! You’ll probably end up walking a lot more than you think, especially if you decide to explore the nearby National Mall afterward

Check out the reflection pool in front of the memorial. It's super photogenic, especially around sunset, so don’t miss it for great Instagram shots.
Pike Place Market Foundation

Grab a coffee at the original Starbucks, but skip the long line! There’s a smaller spot nearby serving great drinks without the wait.

Don't miss the Gum Wall. It's quirky and the kids loved it. Just be aware it might get sticky, so wear old shoes.

For a budget-friendly experience, I suggest exploring the lower levels of the market. There are some indie shops and food stalls that are way cheaper than the main ones.

I think checking the weather before you go is key. If it’s drizzly, you’ll want a good umbrella; some areas are covered, but you’ll still want to be prepared!
