Empire State Building
My advice is to visit around sunset. The views are absolutely magical and you'll get both day and nighttime city vibes in one go.
If you go on a weekday instead of the weekend, it’ll likely be less crowded. I went on a Tuesday and it was a totally different experience compared to the weekend.
The Fallsview Tourist Area
I suggest checking the weather before you go, especially if you're planning on being outside. I didn't realize it would rain, and I ended up soggy all day!
One thing I wish I knew earlier is to wear comfortable shoes! You'll be walking a lot around the decks and trails, and my feet were killing me by the end of the day.
Rockefeller Center
I wish I had known to wear comfy shoes. There’s a lot of walking and standing, especially if you want to explore the surrounding Rockefeller Plaza and catch the seasonal decorations or events
I recommend visiting during the weekdays, especially early in the morning around 9 am to avoid the weekend crowds. It's way more chill and you can actually enjoy the views without jostling for space.
While the observation deck is a must-do, I suggest also taking a walk around the area. The shops, including the famous Radio City Music Hall, are great, but keep an eye out for street performers. They can be really entertaining.
My advice is to time your visit around sunset. There's nothing like seeing the city turn from vibrant lights to twinkling stars, but book your ticket in advance to get that prime time!
230 Fifth
My advice is to take your time exploring the rooftop. It's spacious, so find a nice spot to chill and enjoy the skyline.
Make sure to arrive around sunset, like 7 PM, to catch both daytime and nighttime city views. It’s a beautiful transition!
I recommend checking if they have any special events or happy hours before your visit. You could snag a good deal on drinks!
If you’re planning to drink, get a pitcher of their cocktails to save some cash. Individual drinks can add up quickly, trust me!
Space Needle
I suggest getting your tickets online to skip the long lines; I saved so much time doing this! Just make sure to pick a time slot that works for you.
I'd suggest exploring the park below after your visit; the area is super nice for a stroll and has great photo spots.
My advice is to visit at sunset; the views are absolutely stunning and the city lights up beautifully. Bring your camera!
Mama Shelter's Rooftop
My advice is to check their drink specials online before you go. They have some creative cocktails that are surprisingly affordable during happy hour.
I suggest visiting around sunset. The view is absolutely breathtaking and you’ll get that perfect golden hour lighting for photos!
One World Trade Center
Willis Tower
I suggest going on a weekday if you can. The lines are way shorter and you can really take your time enjoying the views without heaving crowds everywhere!
My advice is to check the weather before you go. A clear day is the best for those skyline photos. Nobody wants a foggy view!
Skydeck Chicago
Don't forget to check out the video presentations inside. They're quick but super informative. I thought I’d skip them, but they added a nice touch to my visit!
Bar 54
I suggest checking the happy hour specials when you arrive. I saved a few bucks on drinks this way and they were delish!
