You might wanna avoid peak hours, like 10 AM. I went around 3 PM and the crowd was way smaller. Much better experience soaking in the art!

Don't forget to ask about the guided tours that let you peek behind the scenes. I heard they show some private areas, but you need to book ahead. Totally jealous I missed it!
La Pieta

I recommend visiting during the first hour after it opens at 9 AM to dodge the crowds. It’s way easier to snap a good photo without a bunch of people in the way!

I think you should definitely stop by the nearby gift shop for unique Vatican souvenirs. They had some cool stuff you can’t find anywhere else, and the prices were pretty good compared to other places!

If you’re planning to go with kids, I suggest bringing some snacks. They can get restless, and it’s nice to have something to munch on while you admire La Pieta without rushing out.

My advice is to bring a small cushion or kneeling pad if you want to sit and take in the artwork for a while. The marble floors can get uncomfortable, especially on your knees
Stanze di Raffaello

After your visit, take some time to relax in the nearby gardens. It’s a great way to unwind after all that art and architecture without feeling too crowded.

Try to go on a weekday especially in the morning around 9 AM. The crowds are way smaller and you can really take your time soaking in the beauty without rushing.
Vatican Necropolis
Vatican Obelisk

My advice is to grab a gelato nearby after your visit. There are some great spots along Via della Conciliazione, and it makes for a nice break from all the sightseeing!

I suggest visiting early in the morning around 8 AM. The light is beautiful for photos and it’s way less crowded before the tours start. Plus, it gives you time to explore St. Peter's Square before it gets busy.
Apostolic Palace

I think the audio guide is worth the extra money. It really brought the history to life for me and helped me appreciate the stunning architecture even more!
