Venezuelan Square

Check out the surrounding architecture; it’s not just the square itself. Take your time walking around and capturing the details.

If you're into photography, the golden hour just before sunset is perfect for stunning shots. The lighting makes everything pop.

I found that some locals are super friendly and willing to share stories about the area, so don’t be shy to chat with them!

My advice is to bring a small snack and water. There are few nearby places to grab something quick, and you'll want to stay a while soaking it all in.
Basilica of Our Lady

If you can, plan your visit on a weekday; weekends can get busy with locals. You'll have a better chance to appreciate the architecture without too many distractions

Check out the local street food right outside. I suggest trying the empanadas – delicious and super affordable, giving you a taste of local culture.

Don’t miss the rooftop view! I think it’s worth the small fee to climb up. The panorama of Maracaibo is stunning and offers a unique perspective of the city.

Wear comfortable shoes! The floor can get slippery in some areas, especially if it's rainy. I slipped once and it wasn’t fun!
Venezuelan National Pantheon

If you're planning to take photos, my advice is to go around 10 AM. The lighting is fantastic then, and you can capture the amazing details of the Pantheon without too many tourists in your shots.
Simon Bolivar Birthplace House
San Carlos de Borromeo Fortress

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM, to avoid the crowds and get some great photos without people in the way. Plus, it’s cooler!
