Lang Bian Mountain

I recommend taking the less popular trails; they’re quieter, and you’ll get to enjoy the nature without the crowds. It feels more peaceful that way!

I think it's worth it to hire a local guide. They know the best spots and can save you time navigating those confusing paths. I found this out last minute and wished I had done it earlier!

My advice is to start your hike around 7 AM to catch the sunrise. The views are breathtaking and it’s cooler too, perfect for hiking!
Cat Tien National Park

If you're visiting the waterfalls, my advice is to go during the rainy season. They’re way more impressive then, plus you can swim in the pools. Just be careful – it can get slippery!

I suggest checking out the wildlife at around 6 am. That’s when animals are more active, and you might catch a glimpse of some cool creatures. Plus, it's way cooler than later in the day!
Ba Be National Park

I suggest downloading a good offline map before you go hiking... I got lost a couple of times because the signal was spotty, and having a map would've saved me some time

If you're keen on boating, I recommend visiting the lake around 3 PM. That's when the light is perfect for photos, and it's less crowded compared to the mornings.
Sapa

Be sure to haggle at the local markets in Sapa. I thought I could avoid it, but ended up paying double for a scarf! Next time, I’ll negotiate more for sure.

I suggest bringing a good pair of trekking poles; they saved my knees on those steep descents! Plus, you’ll blend in with the locals who use them too—it’s a win-win!
