Don’t forget your sunscreen, even if it’s winter! I got totally burned on the slopes because I underestimated the sun’s glare off the snow. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!

Check out the weekday rates. I went on a Tuesday and the lift tickets were way cheaper than on the weekend. Huge savings for those who can be flexible with their schedule.
Cerro Campanario

Make sure to wear good shoes. The paths can get slippery, especially after rain. I didn't and ended up regretting it halfway up!

My advice is to bring some snacks and water with you. The views are so amazing you'll want to stay longer, and there's no place to grab food up there.

If you're into photography, take your time exploring the viewing platforms. I rushed through and missed some stunning shots that I wish I had captured.

I recommend visiting around 4 PM. The sunset views are breathtaking and you'll beat the crowds too. It was magical.

If you’re planning to fish, grab a local guide. They know the best spots and can save you time wandering around. Plus, it’s a great way to learn local tricks. I found mine through a quick chat with locals at the dock.

I suggest booking a boat tour in advance. I thought I could just show up and ended up waiting hours. Plus, pre-booking can sometimes save you a few bucks!

Don’t miss out on the hike up to Campanario Hill. Trust me, the chairlift is worth it! I saved my energy for the views at the top, which are absolutely stunning and perfect for photos.

Pack some snacks; there are no places to buy food on the trail, and you'll want the energy for the long trek.

I suggest bringing layers. The weather can change super quickly—sun, wind, and maybe some rain, so be prepared!
Paso del las Nubes

I suggest wearing sturdy shoes - I didn't, and my feet were killing me halfway through! Also, a hiking pole could really help if you’re not used to trekking in steep areas.

Make sure to bring a camera or your phone for pics, but don’t forget a portable charger. The views are so breathtaking, you'll be snapping away all day long!

If you can, start your hike around 8 AM to beat the crowds and enjoy the peaceful early morning vibes. Trust me, it makes a big difference when you’re surrounded by stunning views without tons of people.

pack plenty of water and snacks! the trail can be longer than you expect, and while there are some spots to rest, finding a good place to recharge can take time.
Hut-to-Hut Trek

Bring cash for food and drink supplies at small shops along the route... I was caught off guard when I couldn’t buy snacks because I had no cash!

I suggest checking the weather forecast before you head out. The conditions can change quickly and I ended up caught in an unexpected hailstorm – not fun at all.

Pack light but don’t skimp on essentials. I wish I had brought better hiking socks instead of cheap ones – my blisters were no joke on the fourth day!
