Australian War Memorial

Wear comfy shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, and you want to be able to take your time looking at everything without aching feet.

Check the schedule for special exhibitions beforehand. I stumbled upon a fantastic one, but it was only later in the day and I wish I had planned for it earlier.

I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM, to avoid the crowds. The place gets busy, and it’s way more enjoyable when you can explore in peace.
My advice is to take your time in the galleries. I rushed through initially, but those exhibits really deserve a closer look and some reflection.
National Museum of Australia

I think you should check out the cafe there too! The prices are pretty reasonable for museum food, and the coffee is surprisingly good!

I recommend downloading the museum's app before you go. It has a great map and info on exhibits, which totally helped me find my way around without wasting time.

My advice is to take the free guided tour at 2 PM if you want to know the highlights without watching every single show. Trust me, it’s worth it

If you're planning to shop at the museum store, hold off until after you’ve explored. I ended up buying cool stuff I had forgotten about while wandering around!
