Statue of Christ the Redeemer
Pack a light snack and some water! The prices at the little shops around there can be outrageous. I regret paying $5 for a bottle!
My advice is to visit during the week, ideally on a Tuesday or Wednesday, to avoid the crowds. I went on a Saturday, and it felt like I was in a sardine can!
I recommend going around 8 AM. The sunlight is perfect for photos, and you get to enjoy the statue before all the tourists swarm in. Trust me, those early pics are worth it.
Museum of Tomorrow
Try to get your tickets online in advance to skip the lines – I did that and saved a ton of time!
Don't miss the rooftop viewing area! The sunset view over the bay is stunning and totally worth the visit.
If you can, visit on a weekday morning. It was way less crowded then, and I could enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
If you have time, plan to spend at least 3 hours here. I thought I could do it in 2 but ended up rushing through some cool parts.
Art Museum
Don't forget to bring a water bottle. There’s a cafe inside, but I found the prices a bit steep. A quick sip helped me enjoy the art more!
Catavento Museum
Don't skip the cafe inside! While it's a bit more expensive than eating outside, the snacks were worth it for a quick energy boost. Plus, it's a nice spot to rest.
If you have time, I recommend exploring the area around the museum afterward. There are some cute parks and eateries nearby that are great for winding down after a busy day.
Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro
Imperial Museum in Petropolis
Consider dressing in layers. The interior can get a bit chilly, especially in the afternoon, but you might be warm outside.
Don't miss the museum's cafe! The coffee was surprisingly good and reasonably priced; perfect for a quick recharge during your visit.
Definitely grab a ticket online beforehand if you can! It saved me some time and I skipped the line. Plus, you can avoid any surprise price hikes at the entrance.
Pinacoteca Sao Paulo
If you're into art photography, I totally suggest walking around the exterior of the building. It's stunning! The sunlight really bring the architecture to life.
I think visiting in the early afternoon around 2 PM is smart, as it gets less crowded then. You can enjoy the art without feeling rushed.
My advice is to check out the temporary exhibits first because they tend to change and are often really great! I almost missed one that was awesome.
Escadaria Selaron
Rio Art Museum
Check out the museum's calendar for special exhibitions before your visit. There was a temporary exhibit that I adored, but I had no idea it was happening until I got there.
Try to visit on a weekday, especially in the morning around 10 AM. It was way less crowded and I had the galleries all to myself, which made the experience so much better.
Don’t forget to spend some time in the outdoor area. It's a great spot to relax and you can take some stunning photos overlooking the city.
