I think bringing a pair of binoculars could really enhance the experience. I didn’t think about it, but some views from up top are just breathtaking and worth a closer look.

If you're on a budget, consider taking the metro to the closest station and then a bus. My taxi ride cost more than expected, and the bus is way cheaper and just as convenient.

Pack a light snack and some water! The prices at the little shops around there can be outrageous. I regret paying $5 for a bottle!
My advice is to visit during the week, ideally on a Tuesday or Wednesday, to avoid the crowds. I went on a Saturday, and it felt like I was in a sardine can!
Museum of Tomorrow

Bring a water bottle, but make sure it's not glass. They have refill stations, which helped me stay hydrated without spending money on drinks inside.
Try to get your tickets online in advance to skip the lines – I did that and saved a ton of time!

Don't miss the rooftop viewing area! The sunset view over the bay is stunning and totally worth the visit.

If you can, visit on a weekday morning. It was way less crowded then, and I could enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
Art Museum

My advice is to take a little time to sit in the museum's courtyard. It’s a nice break from all the art, and I even took some cool pics there!

I think it’s a good idea to download the museum app. It has a self-guided tour and info about the artworks that made my experience so much better.
If you're planning to visit, I recommend checking their website for free admission days. I went on a Sunday and it was packed but totally worth it!

I suggest going on a weekday morning. I got in right when they opened at 10 AM, and it was much quieter to enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
Catavento Museum

Make sure to check out the schedule for live demonstrations. They’re super interactive and really enhance the experience! I almost missed one and it was a highlight for me
Get there by 9 AM when it opens to beat the crowds. I arrived later and it felt packed. More space means more fun exploring the exhibits.

If you're traveling with kids, have them wear comfortable shoes. There’s a lot of walking, and trust me, you don’t want a meltdown halfway through!

Don't skip the cafe inside! While it's a bit more expensive than eating outside, the snacks were worth it for a quick energy boost. Plus, it's a nice spot to rest.
Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro
Imperial Museum in Petropolis

I recommend visiting on weekdays if possible. It's less crowded, so you can enjoy the displays without feeling rushed or jostled by other visitors.

If you're planning to explore the gardens, give yourself an extra hour. They’re beautiful but a bit underappreciated by most visitors, and it's a nice place to unwind.

Consider dressing in layers. The interior can get a bit chilly, especially in the afternoon, but you might be warm outside.

Don't miss the museum's cafe! The coffee was surprisingly good and reasonably priced; perfect for a quick recharge during your visit.
Pinacoteca Sao Paulo

I recommend coming on a Wednesday when entrance is free! You can save some cash to enjoy nearby cafes afterwards. Trust me, it feels good to snag a deal.

Be mindful of the cafe inside – it’s a bit pricey and has limited options. I suggest grabbing a snack before or after your visit instead.

If you're into art photography, I totally suggest walking around the exterior of the building. It's stunning! The sunlight really bring the architecture to life.

I think visiting in the early afternoon around 2 PM is smart, as it gets less crowded then. You can enjoy the art without feeling rushed.
Escadaria Selaron
Rio Art Museum

Grab a bite at the café inside before starting your tour. Their snacks are delicious and give you the energy you need to explore without getting too tired.

I suggest taking a guided tour if you can. I skipped it, thinking I’d explore on my own, but learned later that the guides had some awesome insights I missed out on.

Check out the museum's calendar for special exhibitions before your visit. There was a temporary exhibit that I adored, but I had no idea it was happening until I got there.

Try to visit on a weekday, especially in the morning around 10 AM. It was way less crowded and I had the galleries all to myself, which made the experience so much better.
