I recommend visiting in the dry season, from December to March, to enjoy more accessible trails and better wildlife visibility; I went in April, and it was a bit tricky with the rain.

I suggest checking with the local guides about the best wildlife viewing times; I found mornings around 6 AM to be amazing for spotting gorillas and other animals.

My advice is to pack light but bring good hiking shoes! The trails can be muddy and slippery, and you don't want to get stuck with heavy gear.
