I think you should definitely wear layers. The weather can change super quickly, and I got caught in a chilly wind halfway up – not fun at all!

My advice is to bring plenty of snacks and water. The hike is longer than it looks and I ran out of energy way too soon, which kinda ruined the experience.

Bring cash for the parking fee, as some reviews mention card machines can be finicky. Just a few bucks can save you a headache.

Don’t forget your camera but also put your phone away sometimes... Take in the beauty without the screen... I got some great pics but also missed just soaking it all in

I suggest arriving at the parking lot by 7 AM if you can. It fills up fast, and you want to snag a good spot to kick off your hike. Trust me, I learned the hard way!

Bring layers! The weather can change fast; one moment it's sunny, the next it's chilly and windy. I learned that the hard way and was freezing at one point!

I suggest hitting the trail early, like around 7 AM, to enjoy the peacefulness and avoid the crowds – trust me, the morning light on the lake is stunning!

Check the tide schedule before you go. I got there only to find the beach covered at high tide, which kind of ruined my plans to relax!

Bring a swimsuit if you plan to chill at the beach after the hike. It’s super tempting to jump in that water!

Benjamin November 17, 2024

I suggest wearing bug spray, especially in early summer. I got bitten more than I'd like to admit!

I suggest starting the hike around 7 AM to avoid the crowds and enjoy the morning chill. The views are just breathtaking when the sun begins to rise.

I recommend wearing good hiking shoes, as some sections can be slippery. I didn’t realize how steep it would get and ended up a bit sore after the hike!

If you're planning to do the full hike to the summit, think about taking the gondola down instead of hiking back. It saves your legs and gives you a different perspective of the area!

My advice is to pack a light lunch and plenty of water. There are no food stands up there, and you'll want the energy for the last push to the summit. I regret not bringing enough snacks myself!

Tyler February 14, 2025

I suggest starting your hike around 7 AM. It gets super busy by mid-morning and the early start lets you soak in the sunrise views without the crowds. Trust me it's worth dragging yourself out of bed early.
