Niagara Falls State Park

My advice is to visit during weekdays if you can. The crowds were way less on Wednesday, which meant shorter lines and a more relaxed vibe when checking out the falls.
High park

I suggest visiting the cherry blossoms in early April if you're around then. They're stunning and it makes for great photos! Just be prepared for crowds during that time.

If you have kids, the playground is awesome, but don't miss the zoo! It's small but free. I was surprised how much my kids loved seeing the animals up close.

I recommend going on a weekday if you can. Weekends get super busy and you'll spend more time searching for parking than actually enjoying the park.

Bring a picnic! There are tons of nice spots to sit and enjoy a meal, plus it's a way to save some cash. I packed snacks and saved money instead of eating at the park's vendors.
Don Valley Brick Works

If you're bringing kids, I suggest bringing some snacks and drinks. The cafe can get pricey and is often super busy!

Make sure to wear comfy shoes becuase you'll be doing a lot of walking and exploring! The trails can be a bit uneven.

don’t forget your camera! the views are stunning, especially at sunset. i think it’s the perfect spot for some instagram-worthy shots.

Check out the local art exhibits if you're into that. They often showcase really awesome talents, and it's free!
Algonquin Provincial Park

I think you should check the weather before you go. It can change fast and I got caught in a downpour without a poncho. It ruined my afternoon plans!

I suggest bringing your own food and drinks. The park has some dining options, but they can get pricey and have limited hours. I saved a lot packing a picnic!

My advice is to arrive around 8 AM to snag a good parking spot, especially on weekends. By noon, it can get super crowded and it's a pain looking for somewhere to park!

I recommend downloading offline maps. Cell service can be spotty and I got lost a couple of times. Having a map saved me a lot of headache!
Trinity Bellwoods Park

Check out the farmers' market if you visit on a Tuesday or Sunday morning. Fresh local food and unique finds are great, and it’s a fun vibe!

If you want to avoid the crowds, try going on a weekday morning. I found it peaceful and way easier to find a nice spot to relax!

Don't forget your camera! The park has some seriously Insta-worthy spots, especially near the iconic gates. Trust me, you’ll want those pics!
Ashbridge's Bay

Don’t forget your snacks! There aren't many food options right there so grabbing some goodies before you head in is a smart idea.

My advice is to bring your bike if you can... The paths around Ashbridge's Bay are awesome and biking is a fun way to see more of the area!

i recommend exploring the eastern trails. they feel a bit more secluded and give you some peaceful moments away from the crowd.
Bruce Peninsula National Park
Don’t forget to bring your swim gear. The water at S coast is amazing, and a quick dip was just the refreshment I needed after a long hike!

I suggest checking the weather on the day you go. It can change quickly! I was caught in a sudden rainstorm because I didn’t prepare for it

If you're planning to hike the trails, bring plenty of water and snacks. I packed light and ended up running out of energy too soon! Don't underestimate the distance between lookout points.

My advice is to skip the busy weekends if you can. I visited on a Saturday and parking was a nightmare! Weekdays were much more pleasant and less crowded.
Park Roundhouse

I recommend hitting the park right when it opens at 9 am. It was way less crowded then, and I got some nice pics without people photobombing me. Plus, the morning light is super pretty!

I think walking around the outer paths is a must. I noticed a lot of people missed the really cool spots by sticking to the main paths. Explore a bit, and you might find some hidden gems!
My advice is to bring your own snacks or picnic. I spent way too much on food at the café, and it wasn’t even that great. Grab some sandwiches or snacks and enjoy them near the water.
Jacques-Cartier Park

Definitely bring a picnic! There are nice spots to relax, and food in the area can get pricey. I packed my lunch and it was a great way to enjoy the scenery without breaking the bank.

Parking can be a challenge, so if you can, take public transport or ride a bike. I ended up having to walk a bit from where I parked, which wasn’t too bad but saving time on that would be better.
Downsview Park

If you're planning to take the subway, I'd suggest getting off at Downsview Park Station to save time. The walk from there is pretty short, and it beats trying to find parking.

I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks. The park's eateries can be a bit pricey, and having your own stuff saved us some cash and gave us more energy for exploring.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! The park is huge, and I was glad I wore my sneakers instead of flip-flops — it made wandering around so much easier!
