My advice is to take the south trail rather than the north one if you want fewer crowds and a more peaceful experience. I loved the views there much more, plus it was way less congested

My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The sand can get super hot and walking around is a lot more enjoyable when your feet aren’t burning.

I suggest getting to Mingsha Mountain around 7 AM. The sunrise views are breathtaking and you’ll avoid the big crowds later in the day.
