Tianmen Mountain

I suggest checking the weather beforehand. It can change quickly, and I ended up missing out on the views because of sudden clouds blocking everything. Bring a light jacket just in case!

If you can, try to get there around 8 AM. The cable cars get super busy later in the day, and trust me, waiting in line for hours isn't fun!

Make sure to wear comfy shoes! I thought I could do this in sandals, but boy was I wrong – the hiking paths are no joke, and you'll want to enjoy them!

Don’t forget to bring snacks! The food options up there can be a bit pricey and not the greatest. I wish I had packed some more goodies.
Hung Shing Ye Beach

I think bringing your own snacks and drinks can really save you some cash. The beachside shops are nice, but prices can add up quick.

I recommend visiting the beach in the moring around 9 AM. It's way less crowded and the water is super clear then. Perfect for a morning swim!

If you're into exploring, check out the nearby hiking trails after sunbathing. They're not too strenuous and the views are totally awesome! Just be cautious of the time, so you don’t miss the last ferry back!

Sunscreen is a must! Even if it's cloudy, you can still get burnt. I got pretty red even after just a couple of hours. Better safe than sorry!
Zhangjiajie

One thing I learned the hard way is to make sure you have cash on hand. A lot of smaller restaurants and shops don't accept credit cards, so it's best to carry some local currency with you.
Tianzi Mountain
St. Stephen's Beach

I recommend exploring the nearby hiking trails that lead to the beach for some stunning views—they're super close. I didn’t do it at first, and regretted it later!

If you’re looking to make the most of your beach time, bring your own towels and beach mats. Renting them can add up, and it’s nice to have your own stuff. I learned this the hard way!
I suggest bringing some snacks and drinks—there aren’t many shops nearby and prices can be a bit steep. Plus enjoying a picnic vibe by the beach is super relaxing!
Cheung Po Tsai Cave
Dameisha Beach

Arrive before 10 AM to snag a good spot on the beach! It gets crowded fast, and if you want some peace and quiet, that's the time to go

if you want to save time on getting there, take the metro to dameisha station and then a quick bus ride. it’s much easier than navigating through traffic.

My advice is to explore the nearby parks. The views are stunning, and you can escape the beach chaos for a bit without going far.
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden

I recommend starting your visit around 9 AM to beat the heat and avoid the crowds. It gives you plenty of time to explore the gardens and enjoy the animals without feeling rushed

I suggest bringing your own snacks and water, as the food options there can be a bit pricey. Plus, there are some lovely picnic spots where you can relax and take in the views!
Shenzhen Central Park

If you want to save time make sure to download a map of the park beforehand. It’s bigger than it looks and getting lost could eat up a lot of your fun time!

Bring some snacks and water! There weren't many affordable food options inside the park, so I wish I'd packed a picnic to enjoy on the grass.

I recommend visiting in the early morning around 8 AM when the park is less crowded and the weather is cooler. It’s a great time for a peaceful stroll, and you'll avoid the midday heat.
