Muri Beach
If you're hoping for a less crowded experience, try to visit on a weekday and get there by 10 AM. Trust me, the early morning vibe is just breathtaking!
I think it's worth checking the tide schedules before you go; some parts of the beach can get shallow and less enjoyable during low tide
Bring some snacks and water with you! There aren't many places to grab a bite right on the beach, and it can get super hot.
Don't forget your reef shoes. The coral can be sharp, and I learned that the hard way when I stepped on a piece.
Raro Safari Tours
I recommend booking your tour in advance to secure the best time slots. I was lucky to snag a spot, but I overheard some people who waited too long and ended up missing out.
Talk to your guide about any specific spots you want to see. They’re super knowledgeable and can tailor the experience a bit. I got to see some hidden gems because I asked!
Try to pick a day with decent weather to get the most out of your safari experience. I went when it was cloudy, and while still fun, I missed some amazing views and photo ops!
Titikaveka Beach
Maire Nui Botanical Gardens
Aroa Marine Reserve
Black Rock Beach
i suggest bringing some snacks and drinks with you. there aren't many shops nearby, and buying stuff on the beach can get pricy. i ended up spending way more than i planned!
Tikioki Marine Reserve
Tikioki Beach
I suggest renting a kayak for a couple of hours instead of taking a guided tour. It's way cheaper and gives you the freedom to explore the reef at your own pace, plus you'll see some amazing spots all by yourself
My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The nearby convenience store can be pricey, and having your own supplies lets you relax longer on the beach without worrying about spending too much.
Aroa Beach
I think it’s worth bringing your own snacks and drinks. The beachside vendors can be a bit pricey, and there are some great picnic spots under the trees. Nothing beats a packed lunch with a stunning view!
I suggest checking the tide schedules before heading out to the beach. I didn’t realize that low tide makes it easier to explore the coral reefs. It was so much fun, but I missed out on some cool spots because I went at the wrong time
