Try to visit on a weekday if you can. The weekend crowds can be overwhelming, and I had a much more enjoyable experience when there were fewer people around

Bring a small backpack with snacks and water. The café options are limited and a bit pricey, so having your own food saved me some cash and kept my energy up while exploring.
