Fromagerie Les Alpages
Check out their special events or cheese-making workshops. I was lucky to stumble upon one and it was the highlight of my visit!
If you're on a budget, go for the house-made bread to pair with your cheese. It's super affordable and adds a nice touch!
If you plan to buy cheese to take home, bring a cooler bag... It helps keep your purchases fresh, especially if you'll be out exploring afterwards
i recommend visiting on weekdays if you can. the weekends can get busy and you'll have a way better experience with fewer crowds.
The Seraussaix Farm
If you can, try to visit around 1pm when the cheese are being made. It’s fascinating to watch and you might get some samples afterwards!
I recommend asking lots of questions during the tour. The cheesemaker was so passionate and shared some great tips on how to pair cheese with wine - made our meal later so much better!
Home of St. Nectaire
My advice is to try the St. Nectaire cheese fresh. I bought some to take home, but it was even better when had it on site! Just remember, it doesn't travel well.
Chevrerie Au Coeur de Montjoie
If you’re planning to buy cheese, take cash! They do accept cards, but having cash makes the process quicker and smoother.
La Ferme Du Champ
I think it’s best to arrive around 10 AM. It’s less crowded, and you can enjoy the whole experience without feeling rushed
My advice is to bring cash. Some vendors here only accept it, and you don’t want to miss out on buying that amazing cheese!
Cooperative Laitiere de haute Tarentaise
La Cooperative Laitiere de Moutiers
I recommend stopping by early, like around 9 AM, to get the freshest cheese and avoid the crowd. It gets busy and you don't want to miss out on the best selections.
Bellonte Farm
My advice is to bring cash! Some places give discounts for cash payments, and it can save you a few euros while you're there
