Metropolitan Museum of Art

Check out the lesser-known exhibits! I stumbled upon this awesome modern art section that wasn't on my radar and it turned out to be a highlight. Don't just stick to the famous stuff!

I recommend planning your visit around lunchtime. The café has some great food, and taking a break there gives you time to recharge without losing valuable exhibit time.

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekends can get super crowded, and you'll have a better experience when it's quieter. I went on a Tuesday and it was way more relaxing!
If you're into photography, try to snap pics in the late afternoon when the light is just right. It really adds something special to your memories – I wish I had taken more during that time!
Chateau de Versailles

Make sure to visit the gardens before 10 AM! They get super crowded later, plus the morning light is perfect for photos. I loved the tranquility at that hour

Wear comfy shoes, seriously! The grounds are massive, and I didn’t realize how much walking I’d do. My feet were hurting by the end of the day, and I regretted wearing cute but uncomfortable shoes.

If you're planning to go inside the palace, buy your tickets online and pick a time slot. I waited in line for about an hour, and it was a bit frustrating. Save yourself that headache.
Louvre

Take a moment to grab a map or download the Louvre app. It's a lifesaver for finding your way and knowing what to see first.

Don’t miss the smaller exhibits. Everyone rushes to see the Mona Lisa, but the lesser-known art is often just as stunning and far less crowded.

I recommend grabbing lunch at Café Marly. It's a bit pricey, but the views of the pyramid are worth it for a meal!
If you can, visit on a Wednesday or Friday evening. It’s open late, and the crowds are way lighter after 6 PM.
Eiffel Tower

I recommend taking the stairs to the second level if you're up for it! It saved me some time and it felt great to actually climb the tower.

My advice is to explore the area around the Eiffel Tower after your visit. You can find some cute cafes and shops that are less touristy.

Dress for the weather, especially if you plan to go to the top. I was not ready for that chilly wind up there and it dampened the experience a bit.

I suggest getting your tickets online a day in advance to avoid those long lines. I thought I could just show up, but wow, the wait was crazy!
Triumphal Arch

Try to catch the sunset there! The lights of the arch as the sun goes down are gorgeous. Just make sure you have a good camera ready.

My advice is to visit in the morning around 9 am. It was way less crowded and I could snap photos without tons of people in the background. Super nice!

If you're into history, take a moment to read the inscriptions on the arch itself. They tell some pretty cool stories that make the visit way more interesting!

Finally, don’t forget to check out the beautiful roundabout in front. It’s not just a crazy traffic circle; the design and fountains make it a lovely spot to relax.
Basilica of the Sacre Coeur

My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The steps leading to the basilica can be steep, and you'll want to explore the beautiful area around it.

i would suggest checking if there are any special events happening when you're visiting. i stumbled upon a choir performance, and it was the highlight of my trip!

I recommend bringing a water bottle. There are some fountains nearby, but it can get hot in summer, and you’ll want to stay hydrated while exploring.
Definitely take some time to walk around the Montmartre area. There’s so much art and quirky shops – you’ll miss a lot if you rush right in to the basilica.
Museum d'Orsay

Don't skip the café on the top floor! It has a great view of the Seine and serves decent food. I grabbed lunch there and loved the vibe.

Check out the free entry days, like the first Sunday of each month. It’s super crowded, but if you're on a budget, it's worth it

Take your time with the Impressionist section. I rushed through it and later regretted not soaking in the beauty of the details. Spend extra time here if you can!
Notre-Dame

If you're short on time, skip the long lines for the tower climb and just admire the exterior. Trust me, looking at the stunning facade from ground level is perfect too!

I suggest bringing a refillable water bottle. There are plenty of fountains nearby, and staying hydrated while touring the area is super important.

I learned the hard way that some spots have no shade. I wish I had brought a cap or sunscreen. Just be prepaired for the sun if you’re visiting in summer.

I recommend visiting Notre-Dame in the early morning, around 8 AM. It’s way less crowded, and you really get to enjoy the details of the architecture without the hustle and bustle.
Concorde Square

Be mindful of the traffic; it's hectic around Concorde Square. Take your time crossing the streets to stay safe while soaking in the views.

Don’t forget to explore the history of the statues and monuments around the square. A quick search on your phone can enrich your experience tremendously.

Bring a light snack or drink with you. There aren't many affordable options nearby, and it's nice to sit on one of the benches and just enjoy the view.
Moulin Rouge
Get there at least 30 minutes early! I thought I could stroll in last minute, but the line was really long, and I almost missed the show!

If you want good views for taking pictures, sit in the center section. I was stuck on the side and missed some iconic moments!

My advice is to dress up a little. I wore nice casual clothing, but I felt a bit underdressed among others in smarter outfits.

I suggest you book your tickets online. It saved me some cash, and I got to choose the best seats without any hassle!
