Field of Mars
If you're into art, make sure to take a quick walk towards the nearby Palais de Chaillot. The architecture and the view from there are breathtaking and it's usually less crowded than the park!
During peak tourist season, check the weather before you go. I went on a cloudy day and missed out on great views; clear days are definitely better for your photos and experience.
Grab some takeaway food from a nearby café and have a picnic on the grass. It’s a great way to relax and soak in the view – much cheaper than dining at nearby restaurants.
If you want fewer crowds and better photos, aim to visit right before sunrise, around 6:30 AM. The Eiffel Tower looks stunning in the morning light and you can enjoy the peace before tourists swarm in.
La Villette
My advice is to visit the park during the week if you can—it’s way less crowded than the weekend and more relaxing to stroll around.
I recommend bringing a picnic! The lawns are perfect for lounging, and you can save some cash by eating there instead of in a restaurant.
If you plan to explore the area, wear comfortable shoes! There’s quite a bit of walking, and I wish I'd known that before my visit.
Buttes-Chaumont
I suggest visiting Buttes-Chaumont early in the morning, around 8 AM, to enjoy the park with fewer crowds and to catch the beautiful sunrise over the lake.
Wear comfy shoes! There are lots of hills and paths that make the place feel like a mini-hike. I regretted wearing my new sneakers that weren’t meant for walking
Park Monceau
When visiting Park Monceau, check the weather beforehand. I went on a chilly day without a jacket and regretted it! Bring a sweater just in case, as it can get windy.
Keep an eye out for the free concerts or events. I stumbled upon a small performance when I visited, and it was such a lovely surprise!
I recommend exploring the paths a bit. The park has some hidden gems, like sculptures and quaint bridges, that you might miss if you stick to the main areas.
Gardens and Park of Versailles
I suggest bringing comfortable shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, and it's easy to lose track of time exploring the little paths. I made the mistake of wearing flats and regretted it halfway through!
Square Maurice Gardette
My advice is to explore the park on a weekday if you can. I went on a Saturday and it was super busy, but during the week it's way more peaceful and you can really enjoy the greenery
