Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations
Plan to visit on a weekday if you can. The weekends can get super crowded, which means longer lines and less time to explore.
Lascaris Palace
I suggest checking out the audio guide option when you arrive; it's super informative and gives you a deeper understanding of the palace without spending too much time reading displays.
I recommend wearing comfortable shoes; the floors can be quite uneven in places, and I found myself wishing I had better footwear toward the end!
Marseille History Museum
If you're into photography, don’t forget to hit up the rooftop terrace. The views of Marseille are stunning, and it’s a great spot to take pics without all the crowd
Museum of the History of Maritime
I think you'll want to check out the outdoor exhibits too! I almost missed them while rushing inside, and they really added to my experience. Just be sure to wear comfy shoes!
Massena Museum
I suggest visiting on a Tuesday or Thursday - it's way less crowded and you'll have more space to explore the exhibits. Plus, you'll get better photos without random strangers in them!
Chagall Museum in Nice
My advice is to check out the museum café. It’s not super cheap, but I found the view and the ambiance worth the cost.
Matisse Museum
I suggest checking out their website beforehand for any temporary exhibitions or events. I totally missed a fascinating modern art showcase when I visited, and it would have added so much to my experience!
Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art
Castres Museum
Don’t bother buying souvenirs at the museum shop; they're kinda overpriced. Instead, stroll through the nearby market for unique and cheaper finds.
Museum of Fine Arts
I suggest getting your tickets online before you go. It saved me a lot of time in line, and the ticket prices are pretty reasonable too. Plus, you won't have to worry about last-minute cash issues.
