Grosser Garten

My advice is to check out the Dresden Zwinger Palace nearby after your park visit. It’s pretty close, and if you book online, you can save on entrance fees! I didn’t do that and ended up waiting in line. Total bummer!

If you're into biking, I suggest renting a bike for the day. It’s an awesome way to explore the park, and there's so much to see. Just watch out for the occasional jogger though; they can sneak up on you!
Bruhl's Terrace

Bring a reusable water bottle! There are fountains where you can refill, and it saves you a few bucks instead of buying drinks.

Check out the local food vendors nearby for tasty snacks. I found a great pretzel stand that was way cheaper than sit-down restaurants and so good!

If you're into photography, try to visit during golden hour (around 7 PM in summer) for some stunning pictures of the Elbe River and the skyline. Trust me, the light is magical!
If you want to escape the crowds, visit on a weekday. I went on a Saturday and it was packed, but when I returned on a Tuesday, I had the place almost to myself!
Kuhstall

I suggest checking the weather ahead of time. If it’s been raining, the cave can get a bit flooded. We visited after rain and some sections were closed, which was a bummer.

Definitely wear sturdy shoes! The path can get slippery and uneven close to the caverns. I slipped a bit, and it was no fun. A good grip on your shoes will make exploring so much easier.
Dresden Zoo

If you can, visit during the off-season (like early spring or late autumn) for a quieter experience and cheaper ticket prices. I went in early September and it was still pretty busy.

Bring a packed lunch and snacks... The food options can be a bit pricey and not that great... Having your own food saved me money and time searching for a decent meal

Plan your route based on the animal map you get at the entrance. I missed a few cool exhibits because I wandered aimlessly for too long!
Saalfelder Feengrotten

My advice is to dress in layers. It can get chilly inside the caves, but it might be warm outside!

If you're traveling with kids, make sure to pack snacks. The small café inside can be overpriced, and the kids might get hungry on the tour

Plan to explore the surrounding area too! There are some lovely hiking trails and a park nearby that make for a perfect day out after the caves.

I recommend buying your tickets online beforehand. It saved me a good chunk of time, and I skipped the long queue.
Botanical Garden
I recommend taking a stroll around 3 PM when the crowds thin out. It's much easier to enjoy the flowers without bumping into tons of tourists, trust me.
