Central Park of Antigua Guatemala

I recommend grabbing a coffee from one of the local cafes before heading to the park—it's a great way to start your day and gives you energy for walking around!

My advice is to visit around 5 PM when the light is perfect for photos and it's cooler. Plus, you can catch a lovely sunset!

If you're looking to save money, check out the local markets nearby for lunch instead of restaurants. I found delicious food at a fraction of the price!
Volcan de Fuego

If you can, plan your hike on a weekday early morning, around 6 AM. The trails are less crowded then, and you get to experience the sunrise, which is simply breathtaking.
Acatenango Volcano

If you're prone to altitude sickness, take it easy on the way up. I thought I was superhuman, but had to take more breaks than I planned. Hydration helps a lot.

My advice is to rent your gear in Antigua before you head out. I paid way too much at the base, and some places even offer discounts if you rent in advance.
Tanque La Union
Check out the surroundings—there are some cool local shops and cafes near the tank. I stumbled upon a charming coffee shop after my visit, and it made my day!
Bring a small snack or drink. There aren't many vendors nearby, and you’ll want something while soaking in the lovely scenery. I ran out of water and regretted not bringing my own.
