Bring some snacks and water from home. The food prices on the island can be a bit steep, and while the food is decent, it's nice to have your own snacks on hand while lounging.

I suggest renting equipment outside the park if you're planning multiple activities. I paid a bit more at Maya Key's rental, but if you look around beforehand, you might save some cash!

I recommend getting there right when it opens at 9 AM. The early morning light is perfect for snorkelling, and it’s way less crowded, so you can enjoy the marine life without the hustle.

Definitely bring your own snacks and water – the beach bars can be pricey! I regretted not packing more food and drinks.

If you're planning to rent a kayak, go for it early in the morning around 8 AM. The water is calm, and the crowds are smaller, making for a more relaxing experience.

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks to Cayos Cochinos. The prices on the island can be a bit steep, and it was a lifesaver for us to have something on hand while enjoying the beach. Trust me, you don’t want to get hangry while relaxing!

Bring cash! Some of the smaller local shops and guides only take cash, so don't miss out on a great souvenir or a fantastic guide. I had to run back to the town to find an ATM!

I recommend setting out for your trek early, around 7 AM. The trails get super busy later, and starting early gives you a chance to see the wildlife before it gets too hot

I suggest you wear sturdy shoes; some trails can get muddy. I was slipping around a lot, and it took away from the fun. Cleaned up nicely, though

Bring some snacks and water! It was a bummer to keep stopping for food since there aren't many options inside. Pack a picnic, and enjoy it surrounded by nature.
