Definitely try to visit early in the morning, around 8 AM, to avoid the crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It’s stunning without all the hustle.

If you’re into photography, golden hour right before sunset is just magnificent here. The lighting makes the statues pop beautifully.

Check the scheduled events before you go. Sometimes they have free concerts or activities which can add a fun vibe to your visit.
Chain Bridge
Central Market

Don't forget to sample the local street food! I highly recommend the lángos (fried dough) topped with sour cream and cheese. It’s cheap filling and delicious a perfect snack while you explore!

Look for the little souvenir shops on the second floor. I found some lovely handmade crafts that were way more unique and affordable than the mainstream tourist shops. Great mementos without breaking the bank!

Bring a reusable bag for your purchases. It's handy for grabbing fresh fruits, vegetables, or those tasty pastries, and it's better for the environment. I forgot mine and had to juggle my goodies!

I recommend keeping a lookout for seasonal products. I missed out on some amazing berries and pastries that were only available during my visit in June.
Basilica of St. Stephen
Buda Castle
Shoes on the Danube Embankment
Citadel
Don’t overlook the museums inside the Citadel. I didn’t go in first thinking it wasn’t worth it, but they were actually really interesting and added to my experience.

Make sure to bring water and snacks. The kiosks can be pricey and I ended up paying too much for a bottle of water. Just pack a little picnic!

Consider taking the bus or tram to save on parking fees. I spent a fortune on parking – the public transport is super convenient and way cheaper!

While exploring, check out the little trails on the hill. I stumbled onto some hidden spots that gave amazing views of the city and they weren’t crowded at all!
Fountain of Margaret Island

Make sure to bring a picnic blanket! I saw so many people lounging around, and I really regret not packing snacks. The lawn area is perfect for a chill picnic while enjoying the fountain show.

If you're into photography, the golden hour is magical here! I went around sunset, and the light made the fountain look stunning. Bring your camera or phone for some great shots

Definitely try to visit the fountain on a weekday afternoon to avoid the weekend crowds. I went on Saturday, and it got pretty packed. Midweek, the vibe is so much more relaxed!

I think walking around Margaret Island after visiting the fountain is a highlight. I rushed off too quickly, but there's so much beautiful nature and paths to explore, it's worth extra time.
