I recommend bringing a good pair of hiking shoes. The trails can be a bit rugged and you'll have a way more enjoyable time if your feet are comfy. I learned that the hard way when I wore my old sneakers!

I think you should explore the less crowded paths around Eldfell. I found some stunning views when I took a little detour and away from the main spots. It saves you time standing in lines for pics too!
