Nanganallur Anjaneyar Temple
If you can, visit during the early morning pooja around 6 AM. It's less crowded, and you can soak in the peaceful vibes of the temple.
Check out the intricate sculptures on the temple walls; they were simply amazing! I wish I had spent more time photographing those details.
I suggest wearing comfortable shoes. The temple area can get quite hot, and you'll do a fair bit of walking on stone paths.
If you're planning to eat after your visit, try the small eateries around the temple. They serve some delicious local food without breaking the bank!
Dakshina Chitra Museum
You might wanna check the schedule for cultural performances before you go. They can be a highlight, and I nearly missed one because I didn’t know!
Be prepared for the weather! I thought I'd be fine in the afternoon, but it got real hot. A hat and sunscreen are a good idea.
While the museum isn't very expensive, consider bringing your own snacks and water. I found the food options pricey and limited.

The Government Museum
I recommend checking out the Natural History section; it’s fascinating and often overlooked! You might spend a good chunk of your time here just enjoying the exhibits
My advice is to explore the museum shops. They have some unique souvenirs that are pretty affordable and make great gifts!
Bring a water bottle! There aren’t many places to grab a drink nearby, and you’ll want to stay hydrated while exploring.
Cathedral of Saint Thomas
Check out the little bookstore nearby. They have cool souvenirs and some interesting local reads. I found a great book about the history of Chennai!
Wear comfortable shoes because the ground can be a bit uneven around the cathedral. I wasn’t prepared and regretted not wearing my comfy sneakers!
