Victoria Memorial

Don't skip the garden! It’s beautifully landscaped and a perfect spot to relax after exploring the museum inside.

Bring some water and snacks. I found the café a bit pricey and there weren’t many options nearby.

Plan your visit around the guided tours. I joined one by chance and it made the experience way more enriching than just wandering around alone.
Science City Kolkata

My advice is to bring your own snacks and water. The food options inside can be pricey and not that great, so packing a little picnic will save you some cash and keep your energy up!

If you're into science exhibits, don't miss the Space Gallery; it's super cool! But be sure to check out the timings for the shows, because they fill up fast, and you might have to wait.

Make sure to wear comfy shoes! There's a lot of walking involved, and some exhibits can be quite far from each other... Trust me, your feet will thank you at the end of the day!
Indian Museum

I think getting there early, around 10 AM, is a game changer. You can beat the crowds and really enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.

I suggest using a guidebook app on your phone to get insights about the exhibits. It saved me tons of time trying to figure out what to see next

Plan to spend at least 3-4 hours there. I thought I'd do it in 2 hours, but ended up rushing through some awesome displays I wish I’d taken time to enjoy.

My advice is to skip the cafeteria food. It's kinda pricey and not that great. There are awesome local eateries just around the corner to grab a bite!
Dakshineswar Kali Temple

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You’ll do a bit of walking around, and the ground can get hot, especially in the afternoon sun.

Bring some loose change! There are plenty of vendors around selling offerings, flowers, and snacks. It’s a nice way to embrace the local culture without spending a lot.

I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 6 AM, to avoid the crowds. The temple is serene, and you can enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed.

If you're interested in photography, head to the riverbank for stunning sunset shots of the temple. There's something magical about the evening light reflecting on the water.
Prinsep Ghat

I suggest bringing a good camera or even a phone with a nice lens. The architecture and views are super photogenic, especially during sunset.
Rabindra Sadan

My advice is to arrive around 45 minutes early, so you can explore the area. There are some cool local shops and cafes nearby that are worth a visit.

I suggest checking the schedule online before you go to avoid disappointment. Some shows sell out super fast, so plan ahead!

I think it’s a great idea to ask locals for their favorite shows or events happening during your visit. They often know about hidden gems that aren't advertised!

Check the seating chart and book your seats in advance for the best views. I didn't realize how much a good spot can enhance the experience!
Saint Paul Cathedral

If you want good photos, avoid Saturdays. It was packed, and I had a hard time getting a clean shot of the architecture!
Mother's Wax Museum

make sure you have enough storage on your phone for photos! the wax figures are super lifelike, and you'll want to capture every moment. i just wish i could've taken more!
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The museum is bigger than it looks, and you'll be walking around a lot. I regretted my choice of shoes halfway through!

Check out the food options nearby before you head in. There are some cute little cafes around that serve tasty snacks. Grab a bite after, so you're not rushed inside.
Jorasanko Thakur Bari

My advice is to take the audio guide instead of the group tour. It’s cheaper and lets you enjoy at your own pace, plus you get more insight.

Bring some extra cash for souvenirs! There are unique art pieces that I regret not buying when I visited, they'd make great memories

Try to arrive around 10 AM. I went later and faced long lines; by then, it got a bit overwhelming with the crowd.
Birla Industrial & Technological Museum

Pack a water bottle and some snacks. The museum can get tiring after a few hours, and you don’t want to waste time searching for eateries nearby.

Don't miss the hands-on science exhibits - they’re super fun! I found myself spending more time there than I expected. Makes the trip worthwhile.

I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds, especially if you want a more relaxed experience. Monday to Thursday are usually quieter.
