National Monument Monas

Don't rush through the museum at the base. I suggest taking your time exploring the displays—it really adds to the whole experience!

Grab some local food from street vendors before you go. I tried some snacks after I left, and they were way cheaper than at the tourist spots

When you enter, they check your bags, so try to pack light. I brought too much stuff and it was a bit of a hassle.

Get there early, like around 7 AM if you can. The sun isn't too harsh yet, and you can take awesome photos without lots of people in your shots.
Jakarta History Museum
Benteng Fredeburg

During my visit, I saw some guided tours taking place and they seemed really informative. If you have a chance, consider joining one and you might learn some hidden gems about the fort!

I recommend going early in the morning like around 8 AM to avoid the crowds and really enjoy the peaceful vibe of the place... It gets busy quick

I think checking out the little museum inside is a must. It has some cool artifacts that tell the story behind the fort, but I wish I had spent more time there!

Bring some snacks and drinks, because the food options nearby can be a bit pricey. Picnicking on the grounds is a great idea!
National Museum of Indonesia
If you want some great pictures, head to the courtyard. It's quieter there and the architecture is stunning. I wish I'd stayed longer to snap more pics.

Grab a map at the entrance; it makes it sooo much easier to get around! I found myself backtracking a few times because I underestimated the size of the museum.

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekends can be super crowded, and I enjoyed the exhibits way more when there were fewer people around.
Bank Indonesia Museum
Dirgantara Mandala Museum
If you can download their audio guide app before your visit. It adds a lot to the experience without having to rely solely on pamphlets.

If you're planning to go, I recommend visiting in the morning around 9 AM to avoid crowds. It’s way more enjoyable when you can explore at your own pace.

I think it’s worth checking if they have any temporary exhibitions or events; sometimes, they have special showcases that can be fascinating to see!

I suggest packing some snacks. The museum cafeteria is a bit pricey, and you might want to grab a quick bite between exhibits.
Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (MACAN)
The Ullen Sentalu Museum
Wayang Museum

I recommend going on a weekday if you can. It was much quieter when I visited on Tuesday, and I got to enjoy the exhibits without rushing.

If you enjoy photography try to go around 2 PM when the sun is perfect for some great shots outside the museum. I wish I had done that!

I think you should bring some cash. The museum has a small shop with lovely crafts, but they only accept cash. Don't forget to haggle a bit too!
The Museum of the Armed Forces of Indonesia

Definitely check out the gift shop! They have some cool military-themed souvenirs at decent prices. I regret not taking more time to browse there.

My advice is to look for any special events or exhibits happening during your visit. I stumbled upon a cool display that wasn’t advertised, and it really made my day.

Remember to wear comfortable shoes! The exhibition halls are pretty large, and I found myself walking a lot. Bring a water bottle too – it can get hot inside!
