Pantheon Museum
If you're a fan of photography, don't forget to bring your camera. The light coming through the oculus is just breathtaking! Just watch out for the crowds around that spot, it's easy to get bumped when you least expect it.
I suggest keeping an eye on any temporary exhibits or events that might be happening during your visit. I found a really interesting photography exhibit when I was there, which made the trip even better!
My advice is to grab a quick coffee or snack at one of the nearby cafes before entering. The museum itself doesn’t have much in terms of food options, so plan ahead!
National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo
Villa d'Este
I recommend bringing your own snacks and water. The cafe there was kinda pricey and the options were limited.
If you're into photography, try visiting in the late afternoon just before sunset. The golden hour gives a magical light to the whole place and the fountains look mesmerizing.
Galleria Borghese
Make sure to check out the gardens after your visit. It's quiet and beautiful – a perfect spot to relax.
Try to visit on a weekday, preferably around 2 PM. Fewer crowds made the experience way better than my friend's weekend visit.
Plan for about 2-3 hours, and do grab an audio guide. It really adds to the experience, and you won’t miss out on key info!
Capitoline Museums
21st Century National Museum of Art
Look out for the little corners with installations—it’s easy to overlook them, but I found some hidden gems there that really enhanced my experience.
Plan to spend at least 2 hours here. I went in thinking an hour would be enough, but I ended up rushing through and wishing I had more time to explore everything!
I suggest you buy your tickets online to skip the long lines! I did this and it saved me so much time, especially during the busy weekends
National Gallery of Contemporary Art
National Museum of Rome
I recommend visiting on a weekday, especially Tuesdays or Wednesdays. It’s way less crowded, and you can really enjoy the exhibits at your own pace.
My advice is to plan at least three hours for your visit. There’s so much to see, and you’ll want to take it all in without rushing around.
The Museum of the Ara Pacis
Antica Civitas
My advice is to explore the little streets and alleys beyond just the main attractions. You'll discover some charming quieter spots and unique photo ops without the crowds.
I suggest bringing some snacks and water, as dining options can get pricey, and finding a spot to grab a bite can take longer than expected. Pack a picnic to enjoy while soaking up the views!
