The Valle dei Templi
Catania Cathedral

I recommend visiting the cathedral in the morning around 9 am. It's way less crowded, and you can get some great pics without loads of people in the background. Just be prepared for a little morning chill!

Check out the details of the architecture up close; you'll see some incredible carvings and statues that are easy to miss unless you're looking closely. I almost walked past a few that were stunning!

If you're planning to stay a while, grab a snack at a nearby cafe first. The cathedral area can get pricey, so I suggest bringing some snacks along to save your budget for treats later!

Don't skip the rooftop for a better view of the city! It's a bit of a climb, but totally worth it. I actually missed it, and I think I missed a cool perspective of the cathedral!
Piazza Universita
Castello Ursino

If you've got a smartphone, use a translation app for the info plaques. I found a lot of the historical details fascinating but struggled a bit with the Italian text. It made my visit way more enjoyable!

I recommend taking the time to check out the small art exhibits—they're often overlooked but super interesting! I almost missed them and I'm so glad I didn't

Check out the little café inside. I thought it’d be overpriced, but surprisingly, the prices were decent! Grab a coffee after your tour and relax for a bit.
Elephant Fountain

Watch out for pickpockets, especially if you're distracted by taking photos. Keep your belongings close, I almost lost my wallet while busy capturing the moment!

i recommend checking the weather before you go. it's kind of an open area, and i got caught in some unexpected rain – not super fun when you want to enjoy the sights!

Take a few moments to just sit on one of the nearby benches and soak it all in. I thought I was on a tight schedule, but relaxing for a bit made my visit way more enjoyable!

I suggest cooling off with a gelato nearby after your visit. There's a fantastic gelato shop just a few steps from the fountain, it was a perfect little treat!
Monastery of San Nicolo l'Arena
Basilica della Colleggiata

My advice is to check out the local gelato places after your visit. The one I found nearby had amazing flavors and was great for a post-church treat!
If you're tight on time, you can appreciate the stunning architecture from the outside too, but don't skip going inside to see the beautiful frescoes. It really adds to the experience!
Palazzo Biscari

When you visit, try to catch a tour during the early afternoon, around 2 PM. It was way less crowded then, and I could really take my time soaking in the details.
Fontana dell'Amenano

I suggest visiting early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowd—around 8 AM or after 6 PM was super peaceful for me. You’ll get a better chance to appreciate the fountain's beauty without distractions.
