The Uffizi Galleries

I learned the hard way that wearing comfortable shoes is a must. You're gonna do a lot of walking - so be kind to your feet!

If you're on a budget, grab a meal at a nearby deli instead of the touristy restaurants. You're in for some great authentic food without breaking the bank!

My advice is to visit during the off-peak hours, like right when they open at 8:15 AM. You’ll have a better chance of enjoying the art without huge crowds.
Gallery of the Academy of Florence

If you're into guides, consider downloading an audio guide on your phone. It saved me a lot of money compared to renting one at the entrance, and it let me explore at my own pace.

Get your tickets online in advance! I waited in a long line to buy mine, and I saw people who booked ahead breezing right in.
If you can, try visiting on a weekday morning right when it opens at 8:15 AM. It’s way less crowded, and you’ll get a nice view of David without the horde of tourists.

Take your time to enjoy the gallery. The atmosphere is peaceful, so sitting on a bench to soak it all in is totally worth it, especially after rushing through other busy spots.
Palazzo Pitti

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle. There are places to refill, and you’ll be thankful for it while wandering around for hours!

I recommend wearing comfy shoes. Trust me, you'll be doing a lot of walking, especially in those beautiful Boboli Gardens!

I suggest getting your tickets online in advance. It saved me a ton of time waiting in long lines. Plus, it often includes access to the gardens too!

If you're visiting in the summer, try to go around 4 PM. The crowds start to thin out, and you can really take your time and enjoy the place without feeling rushed.
Palazzo Vecchio

Take a break at the little café inside. The views are fantastic and you can relax a bit before continuing your tour.

Bring a portable charger for your phone. You'll want to take a ton of pics and it's easy to drain your battery with all the beautiful sights!

I suggest downloading an audio guide beforehand if you're planning to go solo. It enhances the experience and helps you appreciate the history even more.

Wear comfy shoes! The floors can be uneven and you'll be doing a lot of walking. My feet hurt by the end of the tour!
Museum Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore

I suggest visiting on a weekday, especially in the morning. It was way less crowded and I could enjoy the artwork without feeling rushed. Saturdays were packed!

Don’t miss the terrace view! It’s free with your ticket and offers an incredible panorama of Florence. I almost skipped it and that would have been a huge mistake.

plan ahead and book your tickets online before your visit. i saw a bunch of people waiting in a long line that could have been avoided. it's totally worth it!

Take your time with the audio guide. It really enhances the experience as there's so much history packed in those exhibits. I felt more connected to what I was seeing.
Opera del Duomo
Museum Bargello

Definitely buy your tickets online in advance. I did it last minute and had to wait in a long line. Getting in early saved lots of time for enjoying the art!

Don't skip the courtyard! It’s quiet and often has fewer people. I found it to be a lovely spot to relax and soak in the ambiance.

Make sure to check the opening hours before your visit. When I went, I didn't realize they close early on Sundays, so I almost missed out!

If you're an art lover, consider a small guidebook or app to help with understanding the pieces. I had a lot of 'oh, that's nice' moments but I missed a lot of history without it.
Galileo Museum

Make sure to check out the first floor first. I accidentally did the second floor first and missed some key exhibits. The flow is much better going from top to bottom.
Grab the combined ticket if you're planning to visit other museums in Florence. It saved me some euros and I didn't have to stand in long lines for each place. Totally worth it!

You might want to take your time with the interactive exhibits. I went through them too quickly, and I wish I had spent more time playing around with the science stuff!

I recommend budgeting at least two hours for your visit. I thought I could rush through, but I ended up missing so much. There’s a lot to see and absorb!
