I suggest exploring the surrounding area a bit before or after your visit. You can find some neat local spots for food and that are not too pricy!

Look out for combo tickets. I found that getting a tour that includes a local music experience was not much more expensive than the regular admission and so worth it.

My advice is to grab some local snacks before you go for a walk around the fort. There are cool little shops nearby with tasty treats that won't break the bank!

I suggest visiting Fort Charles in the morning around 9 AM. It gets super busy later and you'll have way more space to explore and take photos. Plus, the sun isn't too harsh yet
