Aukstagire Ski Area

Don't miss the night skiing sessions if they have them! It’s such a blast and way less crowded. I went one evening and it was the highlight of my trip.

If you’re new to skiing or snowboarding, I recommend taking a lesson. It might feel like an extra cost, but I think it’s totally worth it to avoid forming bad habits. Plus, the instructors are super friendly!

Check if there are any discounts on lift passes for the day you’re going. Sometimes they have deals for first timers or during weekdays, which can really save you some cash.
I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks! Food there can be a bit pricey, and I wish I’d packed a sandwich... Plus, more energy for skiing!

Check the weather before you go! Rainy days can make the trails muddy and less enjoyable. I went in the rain and it turned into a bit of a slip-n-slide!

If you're planning to ride, I recommend calling ahead to book your spot on weekends—places fill up fast! I didn't and had to wait a while.

Be sure to check their schedule for lessons ahead of time. I got there early, but missed out on a deal because I didn't know about the package specials they have on certain days!

I recommend wearing long pants and closed shoes if you're planning to ride. I saw a few people in shorts, and they were super uncomfortable around the horses. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later!
